1st Year Graduate Student | M.A. program in Philosophy

My main interests are in critical theory, social and political philosophy. In particular, my focus is on the concept of freedom, and its interrelation with law, society, and the unconscious. My previous studies included critical theory, German Idealism, law, and psychoanalysis. Engagement with Hegel’s philosophy gave rise to my interest in his theories of freedom, law, and Ethical Life—and furthermore—questions of how we may critique them in the present historical context and what contemporary theories of freedom, morality and law may gain from taking account of these ideas.

Prior to attending Columbia, I graduated from The New School, where I studied Philosophy with a concentration in Psychoanalysis.
