Danielle Ravitzki

2nd Year Graduate Student | M.A. program in Philosophy

En route to obtaining a second masters, this time in the field of Philosophy, and after previously obtaining a masters in Sociology, I am eager to combine both disciplines in my prospective research. My main interest is social ontology, particularly philosophy of the family. I am interested in examining the family as an idiosyncratic group, and whether miscellaneous social behaviors are entrenched in the inherent Modern concept of the nuclear family. In addition, I would like to touch on Hegel and Plato's perception of the family, and examine this project from the realm of the philosophy of race and the philosophy of gender. I have a BA in liberal arts and an MA in Sociology from The New School.
