Nedah Nemati, a Presidential Scholar in Society and Neuroscience at Columbia University, received her PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh. At Columbia, her work has focused on the history and philosophy of neuroscience, philosophy of mind, and anthropology of science. Nedah researches the role of lived experience in neuroscientific experimentation and the influence of such experience in carving behavioral and cognitive concepts. This scholarship draws from the phenomenological tradition and is informed by her laboratory research.
