Tahlia Pajaczkowska-Russell

4th Year Graduate Student | Ph.D. program in Philosophy

I joined the Philosophy PhD program at Columbia in 2020 to pursue research in moral psychology, political philosophy and epistemology, with a focus on emerging issues at the intersection of these fields. Currently, I am interested in the social and historical contingency of our normative concepts and its implications for moral theorising, as well as the value of our blaming practices. Much of my thinking is indebted to P. F. Strawson, Friedrich Nietzsche, Bernard Williams, Ian Hacking, Miranda Fricker and Timothy Williamson.

Prior to coming to Columbia, I completed my BA in Philosophy at the University of Sydney where I received first-class honours.
