Ph.D program in Philosophy
My primary interests are metaethics and epistemology. I have tended to take a formal approach to these matters, using tools from decision theory, epistemic logic, probability theory, the logic of metaphysical grounding, etc. Previous projects have focused on normative realism, moral uncertainty, the epistemology of logic, and skepticism. I also have a long-standing interest in Buddhist philosophy (especially Nāgārjuna), which I hope to explore more in the future.
Before coming to Columbia, I completed a BA and an MA in Philosophy at Utrecht University, including a research internship at the University of Oxford, where I wrote my MA thesis under the supervision of Prof. Timothy Williamson and Dr. Michael De. I have also completed a BSc in Physics at Utrecht University.
