1st Year Graduate Student | Ph.D. program in Philosophy
My main interests are in metaphysics, language, logic, and epistemology. Topics that especially interest me concern our representations of different aspects of the world, e.g. the mathematical vs the moral landscape, and different properties of the statements of such discourses and/or the stuff they mention.
Other topics of interest include modality, semantic paradoxes, uses of higher-order logics in metaphysics, vagueness, and structure. I'm also interested in social philosophy, Nietzsche, aesthetics, continental philosophy, formal epistemology, and Eastern philosophy.
Before Columbia, I obtained my Masters in philosophy from St Andrews, and my BA in philosophy from the University of Leeds. Before that, I played jazz trumpet at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
