I’m an Assistant Professor in Philosophy at Columbia University. I work primarily on decision theory—the part of philosophy that asks what it means to act rationally in a risky world. I am especially interested in debates where decision theory intersects with other areas of philosophy, and so apart from thinking about risk-aversion and rational preferences, I have worked on free will, rational religious commitment, and the nature of objective value. Prior to Columbia, I was a Research Fellow at Oxford University (Global Priorities Institute; St Cross College) and prior to that I completed my PhD at the Australian National University.
